I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and an experienced qualified Pluralistic counsellor and psychotherapist. I specialise in trauma of all types and unhelpful coping behaviours arising from attachment patterns/styles, codependency, addiction and recovery, low self-worth and self-esteem, and relationship issues, including softening our 'inner' critical voice. I have lived experience of late diagnosed ADHD, recovery from substance dependency, and codependency. I work with how the past impacts the present and how to make meaningful and lasting changes. My approach is gentle, warm, compassionate, conversational, non-judgemental and supportive although I will also challenge where necessary.
Pluralistic means I believe no single counselling approach or modality will fit every client and every presenting issue as we are all unique individuals with our own stories to tell. I tailor my counselling style to you, the client, using the therapeutic approaches that best address and resolve your problems, always in collaboration and agreement with you. At the heart of my counselling style is the belief clients heal through exploring how their issues arose, where they come from, and crucially how to make the changes needed to feel at ease with themselves and making lasting improvements in achieving their goals. I help clients to do this.
I 'hold a space' for you, providing a safe, protective and confidential environment in which you can openly share your concerns and whatever is troubling you, and together we work towards resolving them. I am authentic and open in our sessions and always willing to walk beside you, helping you become the person you feel you were meant to be, through healing, inner change and growth.
